The entire Dibrugarh district is currently covered under the icy blanket. The winter chill doubled up after a hailstorm white washed the greenery of Upper Assam. Post hailstorm pictures and videos went all viral on social media on the 26th of December, where roads are fully covered in white in several parts of Dibrugarh. Moran was most affected by the severe chills and the sudden hailstorm.
He further stated that, government will assist and help the residents who had to face damage and loss of property. An assessment has also been initiated by the concerned authorities, to get a detailed reporting of damages. The cultivated lands, bus stations and roads were filled with hails. On one hand people were enjoying the rare scenic beauty, whereas on the other hand people got stuck in heavy traffic, caused due to the thick layer of ice.
